Dark Chocolate Raspberry Banana Bread

My BFF came up yesterday to take her mom out for lunch her birthday.  Afterwards she came over and we both got in a baking mood.  I had recently pinned a recipe for this Dark Chocolate Raspberry Banana Bread.  I had all the ingredients so we got to it.

You will need:

1 stick unsalted butter (softened)
3/4 cup brown sugar
2 eggs
1/3 cup of fat free sour cream (or plain greek yogurt)
2 cups banana (very ripe, mashed, about 4 large)
1 tsp vanilla extract (I used my homemade)
2 cups flour
1 tsp baking soda
1/4 tsp salt
1/2 tsp cinnamon
3/4 cup chocolate chips
1 cup fresh raspberries (washed and halved)

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

In a large bowl, cream the butter and brown sugar until fluffy.  Beat in 1 egg at a time.  Then beat in sour cream, bananas, and vanilla.

In a separate bowl, combine the flour, baking soda, salt and cinnamon.

Slowly mix the dry into the wet a little at a time.

Then add your chocolate chips and raspberries.  Then gently mix with a large spoon.

Pam spray a loaf pan and put the batter in.

Bake loaf in the oven for 60 to 70 minutes.  After about 30 minutes we loosely covered the loaf with some foil.  Then towards the end we took the foil off to let it brown more on top.

Marvelous.....and the smell of this bread baking takes over your house.  MMMM!

Kristen, had to leave before the loaf could finish cooling, so we cut the loaf in half so she could take half home.  It probably needed to cool a little more but that's okay.

How yummy does it look?

And yummy it is.  It's got a good banana flavor and the chocolate chips and raspberries just add to it.

This will def be made again.  Blueberries would probably be tasty in this too.  My hubby enjoyed it but Kristen's husband, Dave thought there were too many flavors going on and he wasn't a fan.

Here's my instagram picture.  :)
