Dinner is ready.....

Dinner is ready!! I made a huge pot of chili at 1am this morning. It's been cooking in the crock pot all day. If you're in the mood for chili there is plenty to go around if you want to stop by. :)

A surprise for Nathan....

If you like Oreo cookies then you'll love this dessert.....

This is an OREO-Jello No bake pie. I picked up the mix at the grocery store today.
Nate is having a rough work day today reading thru resumes and such for a new tech he has to hire. So, this little pie will make him happy when he comes home from work today. I'm such a wonderful wife eh? :)

Last of the birthday festivites.....

My Mother asked about going to dinner tonight. I had to work on-air today till 2pm. So, at 3pm I told my mom I wanted to go to Red Robin. Everyone met me there.

I got steak sliders. They are delish!!! :) As we went to leave...Ashley pulled in. She had been sitting in traffic on N-95 for 2 hours. :( Ashley decided to pick up dinner from Sonic and come to my parents house b/c Nate was gonna fix my parents computer. Nate figured out what was wrong and now everything is working. *knocks on wood*

Ashley then invited me to the movies. She wanted to see Julie & Julia. I really had no interest in seeing the movie but I had nothing else going on so I said yes.

I really can't remember the last time I saw a movie with my mom. haha...I want to say it was "Hocus Pocus". :) It was fun!!! The movie was very cute and yes there are a few laughs. Julia Child was a cute little woman. Meryl Streep did a terrific job 'being' her. I don't want to spoil the movie so I highly suggest that you go see it.

I will end this posting by saying......bon appétit!!!

Saturday night............

We decided a few weeks ago to have poker night at my house. Eddie, Crystal, Dave and Kristen were all coming over. I also invited Sharon and her hubby Joe. We got pizza and beer and Crystal brought over cheese dip, bread, chips, fruit and chocolate. It was all awesome!!! The guys played poker and the girls made cards. Kristen and I set out all of our supplies in the dining room. It was lots of fun!!

Above are some cards that Kristen made. Aren't they cute??

Here are the guys playing poker. They all had a fun time and totally want to do it again.

Nate looking cool after a big win!

Birthday week: Tuesday- BIRTHDAY!!!!

Well now I'm 30!!! Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!! I guess being 30 isn't bad. It's just a number right?

I met my dad at Mimi's Cafe this morning at 9am and had breakfast with him. We both ordered eggs with bacon. It came with OJ, little potatoes and our choice of a muffin or bread. I got the carrot raisin muffin and dad got some toast. It was very good!!!

Silly Jessica and Geoff.... :)

At 12 noon, I met Jessica at the radio station. We decided to walk to Primavera. It's an Italian place that has good white pizza from what I hear. We both ordered diet cokes. I got a meatball sub and Jess got a panini sammich. The fries that came with the sammiches were awesome!! :) After we were done with lunch we chatted for a bit. Then we left but decided to take a little walk around the block. As we were walking up Kenmore Avenue towards William street we heard a eerie sound of metal crashing into each other. I think both of our hearts stopped beating and we both said OMG at the same time. We then saw an old cluncker pick up truck turn from William street onto Kenmore pretty quickly and drove past us. We assumed everything was ok. We got to the traffic light and sure enough everything wasn't ok. There was an SUV turned onto it's side and a buick wrecked by the SUV. We stood there and gawked at the accident watching as the police, and other emergency vehicles arrived onto the scene. Luckily, no one was injured and the accident was cleaned up pretty quickly. We don't know if the truck we saw right after we heard the crash had anything to do with the accident or not but if it did I hope they find them. We ran into some sales ladies that work with us and we told them about the accident and then they told us about one of our co-workers. Apparently, one of our promotions ladies had a seizure in the parking lot and had to be taken to the hospital. I hope she's ok!

Last night, my friend Sharon stopped by with Chocolate chip cookies from Panera and a cute little card and present. She got me a $25 neocash card. Woo-hoo!! :) She's so sweet!! :)

Birthday Week: Monday

First off I had to get my INR checked today. It was 2.4!! Woo-hoo!! I don't have to
get it rechecked until next month. :)

Then I came home and met Aunt Karen and Uncle Bill at my house. Karen gave me my birthday present which was Stampin Up letter stamps that will come in handy when I make some cards. We went to Chili's for lunch. It was good to catch up. A few hours later Aunt Karen and Uncle Bill dropped me off at home and then they headed home to Burke.

About a half hour later, my Mother dropped by and gave me my birthday present. A GPS!! Woo-hoo!! I'd been wanting one for a while and now when Nate and me want to go somewhere we can just type it in the GPS and go. :)

Birthday Weekend: Sunday Part 2

Sunday, Kristen planned a birthday brunch for me at the Jefferson hotel in Richmond. It was fantastic!!!!!!!!!!!! Kristen, Ashley, Melissa and Crystal came. The food was delicious and I think
everyone had a great time.

Towards the end of the brunch the waiter brought me a slice of birthday cake and the man playing the piano played Happy Birthday to me.

Group shot....Melissa, Bonnie, Kristen, Crystal and Ashley! :)

Sunday night, back in Fredericksburg.................... Nate and I went to my friend Sharon's townhouse. I introduced Nate to Sharon and her husband Joe and their doggy Chester. It was Sharon's birthday and we helped celebrate it. We headed over to Ozeki's Japanese steakhouse for dinner. It was very good!!! Our cook was incredible. One of the best and most interactive that I've ever had at simular places. We had a group photo taken and the waitress hung our polaroid on the wall with the other pictures! LOL :) I think Sharon wrote on the bottom of the picture...."21 again". :) Afterwards, we stopped at Carvel and Joe ran in and bought a birthday cake for Sharon. We hung out at their townhouse for a few hours and had a piece of cake before we left.

Birthday Weekend: Saturday Part I

I drove down to Richmond early Saturday morning. I picked up Ashley at her apartment and then went to Kristen's. We then headed to the Brickhouse diner. It's a small little place but they have great breakfast! :)

Then after our belly's were full we headed to the Virginia Safari Park! It's kinda like a drive thru zoo but the animals come up to your car and peek their heads in the windows.

Oh...as I was trying to take some pictures of Ashley with a Zebra one snuck up to me and licked my cheek. I turned and took his picture. It was a little shocking to turn around to a zebra right in your face. haha But it was fun!!

After the Safari Park we drove to the Natural Bridge.

The $18 was a little overpriced but it was still an amazing thing to see.

While we looked at the Natural Bridge we found faces within the rock. It was neat to see.
This is George Washington's profile. Can you see it??? :)
After all that we toured the wax museum that was next door. The tour was included in our bridge ticket. Then Ashley and I toured a toy museum but there really isn't much to say about that. LOL Kristen must have known how sucky it was b/c she let us go like fools and she waited for us with the look "I told you so". :)

After all that fun and excitement we drove to Staunton. Such a cute little town!
When you enter the downtown section there's a big Watering Can on one side of the bridge and on the other side are big flower pots. It was adorable!!! :)
We drove around and finally agreed to eat at a local place in Staunton called the Mill Street Grill.

The food was great. I ordered a sandwich called 'The packard'.
6 oz. of thinly sliced Prime Rib, topped with crisp Bacon and melted Cheddar Cheese on a toasty French Roll, with a side of creamy Horseradish Sauce.
Yummo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :) I will definately go there again.

On our way home from the fun road trip we plugged in Kristen's IPOD and started singing some songs really loud. Celine Dion- "My heart will go on" and New Radicals- "Someday we'll know" just to name a few. It was fun!!!!!!!!!!! Especially, the hand gestures we did along with some of the songs too. Ashley thought we were gonna get pulled over. LOL :)

What a wonderful day!!! :)

Yummo!

I decided to make something new for dinner tonight. I basically put everything in the crock pot and let it cook on high for a few hours. I used frozen Jenn-o turkey meatballs. They are really delicious!! I then put them in the skillet for a few min. In the crock pot I put 2 cans of cream of chicken soup, 2 cans of water, a small container of fat free sour cream, then I added the meatballs, a little parsley, pepper, W sauce, and some Italian cheese. I then cooked some extra wide noodles and once they were done I added them to the crock pot. MMM GOOD! :)

Monticello with Nathan

Thomas Jefferson was the author of the Declaration of Independence and the Statute of Virginia for Religious Freedom, third president of the United States, and founder of the University of Virginia. One of the best things I heard about him......when he had to write down his occupation on a form he didn't put President etc. he put down 'farmer' b/c he felt that was his job and everything else he did was just in his spare time. He was a man who was ahead of his time.

Jefferson's House....Monticello which means 'Little Moutain' in Italian. It was lots of fun!!! We had to wait 2 hours to tour the house but there was plenty to do while we waited. (gift shop, movie, museum) This is the back view of the house. This is what you see on the back of the nickel. :)

Anyways we finally we took the bus up to the house. It was worth the wait.

One of my favorite rooms in the house. This is one of the guest rooms. James Madison normally stayed in this room. It was Octagon shaped. It had lots of room b/c the bed basically tucked into the wall.

This was Jefferson's cabinet or what we would call an office. It was neat to see. Nate liked the chair. :)

Here are some flowers from the gardens....

Cute purple/blueish flowers with a bumblebee. Too cute!!

Cute yellow flower

Tree stump by the house

Anyone know what these are???

Close up of the flower. they looked like little pumpkins or something. :)

Aerial view of Monticello. (Photo taken from Monticello's website and so are the ones from inside the house. You can't take photos inside).

Nate's new car....09' DODGE CHARGER

We thought it was time to trade in the Dodge Stratus..............

Lifetime Warranty!! Woo-hoo!!
