The Duke and Dutchess of Cambridge

The big news of the day is that of a Royal wedding. I didn't get up to watch b/c coverage started at 4am my time. So, I set the DVR to start recording at 6am. Such a lovely wedding.

Kate Middleton and her Prince kissing from the balcony at Buckingham palace.

Carriage Ride....Kate looks stunning. As she got in the carriage she asked Prince William if he was happy now. CUTE! :)

Queen Elizabeth in a yellow dress.

Kate in her reception dress. Very classy! I wish Kate and William lots of love and happiness. <3

Peanut Butter Blossom Cookies

Decided to make some Peanut Butter Blossom Cookies today. I used a pouch mix from Better Crocker. So good and so easy to make.....and the house smells great too. :)

MMMMMMMMMMMMMM :)

New Things Monday

First off, I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend and a very happy Easter. This past Saturday, after I worked a remote (live broadcast) we went down to Richmond to celebrate Nate's dads birthday. Nate's mom and dad made lots of food. There was a ham, chicken, shrimp, potato salad, mac and cheese, and biscuits. For dessert I had brought down a chocolate cake that I made and then Nate's mom made a banana split cake for all of us to try. It was good! We also played some mini golf. That was fun.....I had the highest score making me the loser. haha But it's still fun. Then yesterday, to celebrate Easter we (Nate, Kristen, Dave, Eddie, Crystal, and I) all went over to Sharon and Joe's again this year. I think we might make this a Easter tradition. haha :) Kristen and I did well the with no soda for lent. We survived 46 days with no soda. At Sharon's we pulled out some grape soda and toasted to our success. We did it!!!! It was a fun filled weekend with family and friends and it was great! :)

And to New things Monday......

I tried the new Spicy Chick-fil-a sammich today. Wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy toooooo spicy for me. I took one bite and then gave the rest to my husband. Nate loved it! He said "forget those regular sandwiches, I'll take the spicy ones from now on". haha :)

Cadbury Mini Egg Chocolate Chip Cookies

I love Cadbury mini eggs. Who doesn't? If you've never had them well then you need to get some. :) Yesterday, I was going through my blog dashboard checking all the other blog entries for the last couple of days from the blogs that I like to read. I came across the blog Little Bitty Bakes. The blogger made Cadbury Mini Egg Chocolate Chip cookies and it was love at first sight. I knew I was going to make them and today I did. :) I used my chocolate chip cookie recipe (Wegmans) instead of the one on the blog and I didn't use parchment paper. :)

I love my flour container....it's so much easier measuring out my flour and sugar without having to deal with the stupid bag and getting it everywhere. :)

I saw this as a picture op and took a picture. haha :)

1 cup (2 sticks) butter, softened (I used unsalted)
1 cup packed brown sugar
1/2 cup sugar
2 large eggs
1 tsp vanilla extract
2 tbsp water
2 1/2 cups flour
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp salt

1. Beat butter and sugars until light colored and creamy. Beat in eggs, one at a time until well blended. Add vanilla and water, blend well.
2. Combine flour, baking soda and salt; gradually stir into butter mixture.

I used 2 packages of Cadbury Mini Eggs......CRUSHED. With some personal life issues I've been dealing with it was very nice to crush these candies.

Add crushed mini eggs to cookie batter. Then mix well. :)

All mixed! MMMMM :)

Cookies on the cookie sheet and ready to go. I baked them for about 15 min. on 350 degrees.

Yummy!!!!!!!!!! :)
How awesome?? After they've cooled store them in a air tight container with a slice of bread to keep them soft. :) Goes well with a glass of milk. MMMMM

Spring Bada Bing

Today, we (Ashley, Crystal, Kristen, Melissa and I) all went to the Spring Bada Bing at Plant Zero. It was pretty much all handmade items from people who have Etsy shops.

These were cute little pins shaped like retro record players, cassette tapes and boom boxes.

Cute wallets....this shop was cute. It was named papercuts. Find her blog here. :)

I bought this one with headphones on it. :) Had to have it so I got it.

There were these awesome chalk board table mats that you could write on like a chalk board. They were only $8 and I really liked them but not sure if I'd really use it.

Just some cute things at another shop.

Cute little girl dresses. Melissa bought a really cute one for her niece.

This little dress reminded me of a Amish Quilt I have. So cute!

After the Spring Bada Bing we had lunch at Kitchen 64 and then dessert next door at Sweet 95.

Then we went to These Four Walls shop. Very cute!

Little piggies salt and pepper shakers.

We also drove over to the canal and park area that take you to Browns Island and Belle Isle. I was pretty neat to see. I'd like to go back and defeat the bridge and check out some of the museums around there.

We stopped off at Hanover Thrift store.

And I found.....

A basket of microphones.....2 of them were vintage and at $5 I had to have them both for my Microphone collection so I got them. :) Such a fun day! :)

New Things Monday

Since I've given up sodas for lent I've been trying a lot of different juices, waters and water enhancers. Today, I tried Mio Liquid. I got the fruit punch flavor. You squeeze a drop in your drink and it blends into your water. I did one drop and then tasted the water. It was a light red and no taste. I did this 4 more times, drinking in between each drop. A little bit of flavor each time. I have 5 drops total in a 16.9 fl oz bottle of water. It was still not too tasty. I let the bottle sit for 5 min and tasted again and now I'm tasting more flavor. It's ok but I will not spend $4.00 on this again considering you have 24 squeezes and I've already used 5 for 1 bottle. haha :)

The Container Store Adventure

We went to The container store after Georgetown cupcakes. The place has everything you need to organize everything in your house. It's just one of those stores that you have to go to, to see for yourself. There was a mini 5 min demonstration on something and Kristen went to and ended up winning a $25 Gift card to use in the store. Awesome! She got a lot of cool stuff! I think most of us bought something and or found some things to add to a wish list. :)

Here's my loot. :) I got a big reusable bag, a turntable thing, a bra bag for the washer, a pocket pill container, a weekly pill container, a 40oz water bottle, a flour container, a sugar container and a plastic container for something but not sure yet. I got all of this for $30.24. :) I decided to go ahead and put my turntable to it's purpose in life. :)

LEFT SIDE BEFORE: Just a little chaotic. No real organization going on.

RIGHT SIDE BEFORE: Kinda mixed together.

LEFT SIDE AFTER: The turntable with all my spices and seasonings. No more digging around for what I need. I can just spin the wheel. :) I put my baking soda, baking powder and cornstarch in pantry next to my baking stuff.

RIGHT SIDE AFTER: Look how nice and neat that looks. No clutter! YEY! :)

Georgetown Cupcakes Adventure

Today, we went to DC. We went to go to Georgetown Cupcake, The container store and Fair Oaks mall to meet my Aunt Karen for dinner at Cheesecake Factory.

Georgetown cupcake is made popular by the TLC show 'DC Cupcakes'. Two sisters own this cupcake shop and it's def a huge success. We needed to try these cupcakes so we made a girls trip out of it. The drive up was a little crazy b/c of traffic and the stupid GPS. But thanks again for driving us K! :) The worst part of going here is the LINE to get in. But lucky for us, my AWESOME cousin Lora, got there before us and stood in line with her daughter. So, when we finally got there all 6 of us got in line with Lora. I think we might have stood there less than 10 min. and I'm sure we made some people mad for just getting in line. OOPS! LOL :P

Here is the outside of the shop. It's really tiny.

MMMM CUPCAKES! :)

Busy staff boxing cupcakes!

Cute picture hanging up inside.

A worker putting fondant on the red velvet cupcakes.

Lora's daughter Livi kinda eating her cupcake. She's so cute! :)

I got a half dozen. Which was $15! :) I got Mint cookies and cream, PB Fudge, Red Velvet, Chocolate & Vanilla, Salted Caramel and Chocolate 3. MMMMM And I also got a Salted Caramel for my Aunt who we met later for dinner. :)

While inside no one was sitting at the tables so we took them and ate a cupcake. I had the Chocolate & Vanilla cupcake. It had a cream cheese frosting with french chocolate sprinkles. It was sooooo good! :)

Another picture of some of the cupcakes! :)

After we enjoyed our cupcakes we walked 1 block to Georgetown Cupcakes old location which they use as a lab for projects.

It was lots of fun!! I'm glad we could all go and have a fun girly day. :)
