My BFF and I love to make our own seasonings. We both like the store bought white chicken chili seasoning packet but after seeing what’s in there we decided to make our own. Here’s a video for you to try. Since we never tried this recipe before we decided to make a small batch to be sure we like it. If we love it we will make a bigger batch next time.
Here’s the recipe. (We made 2 batches so we doubled the recipe)
2 tsp sugar
2 tsp corn starch
4 tsp garlic powder
2 tsp cayenne
4 tsp cumin
2 tsp oregano
2 tsp cilantro
2 tsp corn starch
4 tsp garlic powder
2 tsp cayenne
4 tsp cumin
2 tsp oregano
2 tsp cilantro
In your crock pot or soup pot combine 1 tbsp of the seasoning with 1 pound cooked chicken (cubed) and 2 – 4 cans of white cannellini (great northern) beans, 1 tbsp olive oil and 1 cup water or chicken broth.
Cook on high for 4 hours or low for 8 hour.
Enjoy!
Recipe originated from here.
To make just one batch of the seasoning:
1/2 tsp sugar
1/2 tsp corn starch
1 tsp garlic powder
1/2 tsp cayenne
1 tsp cumin
1/2 tsp oregano
1/2 tsp cilantro
1/2 tsp corn starch
1 tsp garlic powder
1/2 tsp cayenne
1 tsp cumin
1/2 tsp oregano
1/2 tsp cilantro
Same here, I love making my own poultry seasoning substitute with thyme, sage, and marjoram. But your herb blend sounds intriguing, so I'll try that too!
