Spotsylvania Farmers Market: Trip 4

I went to the Farmer's Market today.  I love going to see what goodies I can find.  I had $14.62 with me in cash.  You can use your debit card there but I was budgeting to only use what cash I had on hand.  I got peppers which were 3 for $2 so I got 6.  I also got some tomatoes which were $2.  I asked the farmer if these tomatoes tasted like the red cherry tomatoes and he said they are really good and are just a little sweeter.  I'm going to use them in my Chicken risotto later this week.

I saw a sign for Gelato and decided to get a little tub of that.  It was $3 for the small tub!  It's soooo good and creamy.  :)  I will save some for Nate to try.  :)

I had to get me some chocolate chip cookies with sea salt.  Nate liked it too so I know he'll like a treat after dinner tonight.  :)  The cookies were $2.62.

I had another 10% off coupon from C&T produce so I decided to use it on a zucchini and a little squash.  It came to $1.10 but I didn't have the .10 cents so I tried giving $2 to the farmer but she told me to not worry about the .10 cents.  How nice.  :)

After all my purchases, I had $2 leftover.  I was disappointed not to see any blueberries or nectarines.  :(  I wanted blueberries to make some blueberry scones.  Oh well, maybe next time.

Childhood Movies

I'm on stay-cation this week.  Lots of FREE time to do whatever I want.  Yesterday, I watched Cinderella.  Love that movie!  I also pulled out a few other movies to watch this week.  Honey, I shrunk the kids; The little Mermaid; Lion King and Snow White.  :)

French Bread Pizza

Tonight for dinner, I decided to make my own French Bread Pizza.  I'm sure you've had
Stouffer's French Bread Pizza before.  After making this, you won't want to buy those frozen loaves again.

I bought a package of 2 french loaves the other day.  We only used one loaf for Baked Potato soup yesterday.  So, I had to use the second loaf today.  I don't like wasting food.  If you'd like you can make your own french bread that would be even better.

Slice your loaf in half.  Or make it a deep dish pizza.

Gather all your pizza ingredients.  I had an opened jar of pizza sauce I wanted to use up, and a half package of mozzarella cheese.  The only item I bought was the sliced pepperoni.

I put the loaves on a cookie sheet.  Brushed on some olive oil and put them in a 350 degree, preheated oven.  I baked for about 2 to 3 minutes just to let the bread get a little toasty.

Next, decorate your pizzas however your little heart desires.  :)

Then put in the oven and bake at 350 degrees until all the cheese is melted.  About 15 to 20 minutes.

Yummy cheesy goodness.....

This was awesome and filling.  :)

New Things Monday

At Olde Towne Steak and Seafood, this past Saturday night, on my dinner plate was a red ring like the above picture.  Sharon had one too.  She ate hers and loved it.  She thought it was a beet until the waitress corrected her telling her it was a Spiced Apple.  I tried a bite of mine.  I was not a fan.  It wasn't awful but I just didn't like the taste.  While googling a picture of spices apple I found this blog with the picture and a recipe in case you want to make it yourself.  :)

Go Nate signs....

Nate's gotten a lot of signs from his runs and his 100lb weight loss party.  I hung the signs up in the basement for Nate to give him move motivation while he's working out.

This is our gym area.

Homemade signs....

The sign we all signed at the 100lb weight loss party.

Garden Progress- Day 106

Here's day 106 of my patio/deck garden.  It's looking really sad.  Yes, I've been watering them.  :)  I think the plants are just about done.  I picked tomato 21 this morning.  The green tomato on the crate fell off when I took the tier off.  :(  I had to put the tier in the pepper plant b/c it really needed it.  It had been leaning really badly.  The spray bottle is full of black pepper, red pepper flakes and water.  I've been spraying it on the pepper plant since coming across this site.  It keeps those pesky horned caterpillars away.

My big green pepper is still doing really good.  Still growing and still healthy.  I've got 2 other ones that are doing good too but they are smaller than this guy.

Homemade Vanilla Update

Almost a month ago, Kristen and I made our own Vanilla.  It takes 90 days for it to be ready.  You have to keep it in a cool dark place.  I keep mine in a brown bag in the basement bathroom.  It's the perfect cool, dark place.

Anytime, I'm in the basement I shake up the bottle.  It's turned a nice brown color and it smells just like Vanilla.  :)

After the 90 days, Kristen and I will get together to strain the vanilla in a cheese cloth to get out the seeds and then we'll bottle the vanilla.  :)  I excited to try it.  Can making your own vanilla really be this easy?

Grey Room

I figured I'd take some pics of one of my guest rooms.  This is my grey room.  The colors in this room are grey, white and black.  :)

From Sharon and Joe, for my birthday I got these awesome pillows.  How cool is the headphone one?  I saw this in a Target ad a few weeks back and fell in love.  LOL  Thanks S&D!  I also got a Target Gift Card from Crystal and Eddie.  Might have to go there this week to see what I can spend it on.  :D  Thanks C&E!

This is my craft table.  It's pretty organized at the moment.  I think I need a bigger message board.  That thing is full.  LOL  :)

This dresser is packed full of craft stuff.  :)  I have my RADIO letters on the little shelf with little ceramic radios.  :)

On top of craft drawer I have a little tree of life, bouquet from my sisters wedding, my own wedding pic, a little red tractor that reminds me of Grandpa Runyon and a salt and pepper shaker of BJ my Aunt Karen's dog.  :)  Aunt Karen gave them to me when I was sick 2 summers ago at the OBX with her.  BJ would sit by me and guard me as I laid on the couch.
