My cat, Harley means the world to me. He will be 13 this summer.
For last last few months he has been losing weight and having accidents and being more clingy than usual. I took him to his vet last week. Harley was down 7 pounds....he was now half his body weight. Something is going on. My vet ran some tests that came back normal but wanted his heart to be checked via an ultrasound. My vet referred me to a cardiologist. I never knew there was a pet cardiologist. I made the appointment earlier this week.
The cardiologist did not expect what he found. My kitty son has fluid in his chest which is most likely cancer.
That word, cancer makes me angry, sad and just writing this blog makes me tear up. Cancer in a cat?
We are taking each day by day. We have no idea how much time he has left with us but we will cherish it. We will continue to spoil him. The main thing is that Harley is not in any pain. He's the happiest cat in the world. And I'm the luckiest person in the world to have stumbled upon him when he was a baby. He will never know how happy he's made me.
Here's one of my favorite pictures of Harley.
Here's Harley after the nurse checked him over and we were waiting for the cardiologist. He was not happy.
Harley's favorite spot next to me on the couch.
I love him so much.
i am so sorry that harley is sick but glad he isn't in any pain. love on him lots! :)
