Reese Hot Chocolate at Sheetz

On my way to work one day last week I saw a new billboard for a Reese Peanut Butter Hot Chocolate at Sheetz.  At first, I thought no and then the more I thought about it, I wanted to try it.

This morning, I made a Super Target run and I decided on my way home I would stop in at Sheetz and get one so I could try it.

I walked to the coffee first because my husband requested a coffee.  After I got his coffee I looked around for the hot chocolate and couldn't find the Reese one.  :(  Then I saw a sign.  You have to ORDER it from the computer.  You don't make it yourself.  I ordered a medium with some whip.

I then paid for the drinks and waited for my drink to be made.  :)  Oh yeah, I also signed up for a my sheetz card so I can save 3 cents off at the pump (which is currently at $2.05).

My drink was finally ready and I headed to the car.  Of course I took some pictures.  :)

Here's the signage by the computer ordering screen.

Here's my cup.

I carefully opened the lid and it surely smelled like peanut butter goodness.  :)

I sipped it and I was amazed at how wonderful this tasted.  My exact word was "WOW".  So, delicious.  I finished it rather quickly.  I couldn't put it down.  :)  I did save a tiny bit for my husband to taste it and he said "Oh wow, that's good".  :)  This will be something I treat myself to every now and then.  I don't even want to know how many calories is in this drink.  :)  haha

Amish Peanut Butter Fudge

I found a recipe on facebook posted on a Amish Ohio page for an Amish Peanut Butter Fudge.  I whipped it up today and it was very easy to make.

You will need:

1 cup peanut butter (I used reduced fat)
2 sticks (unsalted butter)
1 tsp vanilla extract (I used my homemade extract)
4 cups confectioners/powdered sugar

In a saucepan, on medium, melt your butter sticks, peanut butter and vanilla together.

Once it's all combined, remove from the heat.  Then mix in your confectioners sugar.
I mixed 1 cup at a time.

Mix until the sugar is combined.

Line foil in a pan and spray with PAM.  Then put the peanut butter mixture into the pan and press it down evenly.  Place in fridge for 2 to 3 hours.

Once it's done chilling you can cut the fudge.

Place the fudge in an air tight container and store in the fridge.

Christmas Dinner 2014

We had a pretty good Christmas.  We slept in, stayed in our jammies and did pretty much nothing.

For dinner tonight, we planned our own little Chinese mini buffet.  We've been doing this for the last couple of years and we love it.  It's 'our' thing.  :)

We got a variety of foods so we could sample what we wanted.

-Small General Tso's Chicken
-Small Sweet n' Sour Chicken with sauce
-Small Beef N' Broccoli
-Small Chicken Fried Rice
-Small Chicken Lo Mein
-White Rice
-Free Eggrolls

Here's the spread.

I piled it on my plate.  :)

Good thing.....we even have leftovers for tomorrow.  :)

Easy 3 Ingredient Banana Bread

My friend, SD at work made a 3 ingredient banana bread for our work food swap last week.  It was so good and it tastes just like banana bread.  Nate loved it and I wanted to make it so I made it today.

All you need and this is no joke.....3 ingredients.

-3 ripe bananas
-2 eggs
-1 boxed cake mix (I used yellow cake mix)

I used my FREE cake mix and it was fun to bake up because it was so easy.  A child could make this.

I mashed up 3 bananas with a fork in a large bowl.  I then cracked 2 eggs into the bowl and whisked into the mashed bananas.  After that I added in the cake mix and mixed until everything was well combined.  I added the batter to a large greased loaf pan.  I baked for about an hour on 350.

You could probably add some cinnamon, nutmeg or even homemade vanilla extract if you wanted to.  Or you can use different cake mix flavors.  I did not.  I did what the original blogger said.

Look how golden brown the bread loaf is.

It's very moist and taste just like banana bread.

Christmas Morning 2014

Nate and I slept in late this morning.  We finally woke up around 10am.  It was nice not having the radio go off at 7 or 8.  :)

After we got up, I came downstairs and grabbed a present that's been sitting under the tree.  It's from my BFF.  She surprised me with a gift.  She said when she saw it, it screamed Bonnie so she had to get it for me.  :)

I opened it and actually squealed with excitement.  It's a little greenhouse ornament.
How awesome right?

It's soooo cute!  :)  I immediately, put it on the tree.

I then put some pillsbury (reduced fat) cinnamon rolls in the oven and baked them up for breakfast.

Yes, I added some red and green sprinkles on 2 of the cinnamon rolls.  Why not?  It's Christmas.

Yummy!  :)  Merry Christmas!

Food Lion Freebies

I got some coupons in the mail from Food Lion a few weeks ago that I hadn't even really looked at.  I just put them in my coupon stash and forgot about them.

Before running errands a few days ago, I looked through my coupons to see if there was anything I could use.  I noticed the Food Lion coupons were for FREE items.  WHAT??  Yes, please!!  :)

I decided to get my freebies.

I got:

-Roll of paper towels
-Box of Saltine Crackers
-Box of Pop Tarts
-Box of Duncan Hines Cake Mix

Here's my basket of freebies with the coupons so you can see.

The cashier rang everything up, she swiped my MVP card and I handed her the coupons.  She scanned them and then gave me .62 cents.  I said "okay, thanks".  So, I basically got paid to come into the store and get FREE stuff.  :)  Sounds good to me.

I hope Food Lion continues sending FREE item coupons!  I love freebies.  Wegmans used to do it but they don't do it anymore.  :(  Thank you Food Lion!  :)

December Birthdays/Family Christmas 2014

Last weekend, my family and I celebrated my siblings birthdays and family Christmas.

I had to work that morning/midday for a radio remote.  It was soooooo cold out and it was up in Northern Virginia.  We got there early and good thing we did b/c traffic got really bad with accidents and volume.

Here I am in the radio van with the heat cranked trying to warm up.  :)

The remote was done at 3 and we packed up as quickly as possible so we could head back to station.

On the road, my promotions guy, Matt asked if we should try out the new 95 express lanes since they are free until the 29th.  I said sure.  And we did.

Here's the new part of the express lanes.

Then well, we got stuck in traffic where the hot lanes dump back into the main lines.  In this picture you can see the main lines of 95 are free and clear and the hot lanes were a hot mess.  LOL  I won't be using these again especially since they will start charging you.  You could end up paying $20 a day to ride these lanes.  The rates are based on traffic.  No thanks!

We got back to the station around 4:20pm.  I was able to change, and grab my siblings birthday presents.  I baked them my award winning homemade chocolate chip cookies.  We had reservations for Logan's at 5pm.  I left the station and sat on Rt. 3 in traffic.  But I did get to Logan's at exactly 5!

After dinner we talked, exchanged gifts and passed E around.  :)

Here's Nate and E.

This is a cute picture, except Nate is blurry.  haha  (E's dad D is in the background smiling).  :)

Santa on a Fire Truck

Tonight, Santa drove through our neighborhood riding on a fire truck.  The fire truck was all decked out with lights.  It was awesome and made everyone smile.  Christmas magic.  :)

3rd Work Food Swap

I organized to have our 3rd work food swap and it was today during our lunch hour.

Here's the past work swaps:

We had 9 people participating today.  We did an even trade with our items so everyone would get each item.  We each brought 8 items to swap and a sampling of our item.  One person ended up not showing up.  I think she was sick?  We went ahead and collected each extra item and took them to her anyway.  :)  After all it is the season of giving.  :)

Here's my plate of goodies.

Paula, brought crab dip and crackers.  She displayed everything in cute little bowls!

Sue, made chicken salad.  She had little containers for us to take with the chicken salad.  For the samples she had tiny red solo cups with chicken salad, crackers and grapes.  She displayed it all  in a basket with Christmas lights which I thought was just adorable!

Deirdre, made homemade potato salad.  Soooo good.  I had seconds.  We each got a container to bring home.

Jane, made pepperoni rolls.  So yummy!!!  Yes, we each got a pepperoni roll.  Jane said she got up at 5am this morning to bake all of these.  They are worth it!  I will probably be taking some of the roll for lunch tomorrow.

Gayle, made little wreaths with clementines for each of us.  They are cute!  For the samples she had a clementine cut up.  The wreaths make cute centerpieces.

Sharon, made banana bread.  Vanilla and Chocolate!  We each got a mini loaf of each one.  These are really good.  And it's only 3 ingredients.  Box of cake mix, eggs and bananas.  What?  LOL  It really does taste like banana bread.

Sam, made peppermint bark.  She packed it in cute Christmas treat bags.  MMMMM!!  :)

And here's my yumyums.  :)

It was a lot of fun.  We are already of thinking of doing another one around Valentine's Day.  :)

Christmas YumYums

I organized a food swap at my work.  I decided to make YumYums.

I brought the hugs with me to work and unwrapped them when I had some free time.  To me this is the hardest part of making these treats.  haha

Unwrapping...

207 unwrapped Hershey hugs in a big ziploc bag.

Preheat oven to 200 degrees.  Lay pretzels on the baking sheet.

Add a Hershey hug to each pretzel.

Bake for 5 minutes.  You will know the hugs are melted because they will get all glossy.

Have M&M's in a bowl so you can easily grab them.

Once you take them out, immediately put an M&M on top and press down.  (I place logo side down).

I put in fridge for a few minutes to help cool them.  Then place them in tupperware, treat bags or jars.  Since I was giving these away at my food swap I decided to put them in ball jars.

I tied some ribbon and an ornament bauble on each for an extra touch.
